Building impact beyond the spotlight
The 7uice Foundation, founded by NBA All-Star Jaylen Brown, aims to close the opportunity gap and foster economic and educational equity in Black and Brown communities. As part of its rapid growth, the Foundation sought expert support to design and execute a social impact strategy reflective of Jaylen’s bold vision and deep community commitment.
Growing influence, growing responsibility
As the Foundation gained national attention, there was a critical window to solidify its infrastructure, define its programming pillars, and launch high-impact initiatives. This presented an opportunity to build something enduring and authentic—beyond the typical celebrity nonprofit playbook.
Painpoints
Rapid growth and media spotlight with limited back-end structure
Navigating internal dynamics while balancing public expectations
Balancing bold, visionary goals with operational feasibility
Through consistent, values-driven leadership, the Foundation was able to launch flagship events, secure high-profile partners, and build internal clarity around what impact could—and should—look like long term.
Impact infrastructure that stands on its own
Members of the current SIE team served in leadership roles during a pivotal stage of the Foundation’s devaelopment. Drawing on our expertise in nonprofit operations, racial equity strategy, and creative storytelling, we helped shape core areas of the Foundation’s work including:
Program design across five impact pillars (Education, Financial Literacy, Mental Health, Sustainability & Tech, and Leadership)
Partnership strategy with corporations, educational institutions, and community orgs
Fundraising campaign visioning (including a potential $200M campaign)
Event production (e.g., Golf Fundraiser, Comedy Fundraiser, community activations)
Crisis response planning and internal infrastructure design
The goal was building impact that works whether Jaylen's center stage or behind the scenes.
Foundation first, celebrity second
We employed a hybrid approach: working at the leadership level while building foundational systems from scratch. This included:
Mapping organizational goals into a scalable strategic plan
Designing and co-producing events that doubled as friend-raising and fundraising tools
Building internal proposals and materials for brand-aligned partner outreach
Establishing policies, practices, and workflows to support ethical operations
Results that survive the spotlight
Conceptualized and executed first-ever fundraising events generating early six-figure returns
Developed signature initiative concepts for debt cancellation, educational access, and youth mentorship
Positioned the Foundation to attract long-term strategic partners, including Fortune 500 companies and local institutions
Supported internal growth of team capacity and organizational clarity
Building sustainability from day one
Even with a powerful platform, clarity, infrastructure, and alignment are non-negotiable
Celebrities need tailored, values-based support that centers impact—not ego
Community trust must be built through authentic engagement, not just narrative polish
